Book vs. Movie: The Hunger Games (2012)
This program will take place in person at West Farms Library.
Join us every month to answer the age-old question: which is better, the book or the movie? Each month we will screen a different movie adaptation of a YA book. Read the book ahead of the screening (copies will be available at the Information Desk), and at the end of the movie vote and let us know – was the book better or the movie?
This month we will be reading and watching: The Hunger Games (2012)
After her younger sister is chosen to take part, 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen volunteers to compete in her place in a cruel televised tournament in which 24 teenagers from a postapocalyptic society fight to the death for the entertainment of the masses in a competition known as the “Hunger Games,” which are broadcast across the nation as entertainment, and to reinforce the government’s total power.
