Jolabokaflod at Tiny Raccoon Books!
Join us on December 20st for a night of books and chocolate as our store celebrates the holiday season in Sayville with our third annual Jolabokaflod!
Jolabokaflod* or ‘Christmas book flood’ is an Icelandic tradition in which people gift books and chocolate to each other during the holiday season. It stems from World War II when most resources were in short supply but paper was able to be imported easily. While we are not Icelandic, we absolutely love this tradition and want to share it with you as we love books and chocolate!
Hot chocolate and holiday cookies will be provided from our friends at the Sayville Bean and Brunch Sayville.
There will be a reading of ‘Twas the Night before Christmas at 630pm for the kids.
Come with an Ugly Sweater!
