Nerai Wine Dinner

Embark on a journey to the island of Crete at Nerai (55 E. 54th Street) with a 4-course chef’s tasting menu and wine pairing on Friday, July 26th at 7pm, highlighting four Cretan wines and the rich heritage of one of Greece’s most ancient regions. On the menu, you’ll find a traditional Cretan salad with House-Made Rye Bread, Mizithra Cheese, Roasted Tomatoes, Kalamata Olives, and Kritamos, a decadent Sea Urchin and Lump Crab Pasta, and a rich Roasted Lamb Shoulder with Braised Gigante Beans. Finish the evening on a sweet note with a traditional sweet Cretan pie.

Wine pairings are thoughtfully curated for each dish and include a 2021 single vineyard Vidiano from Crete’s “Wonderkid” Iliana Malihin, a 2020 natural Liatiko “Grifos” from Silva Daskalaki, the legendary 2004 “Antigone” blend from the one and only Economou, and a 2016 Kotsifali from Stilianou, and take you on a cultural and gastronomic journey through the rich heritage of one of Greece’s most ancient regions.
